Throughout the year we offer lots of creative learning opportunities for students of all ages. Your class can experience a live theatre show, enjoy world-class art exhibitions, or enjoy a creative workshop led by professional artists.
Working closely with the current curriculum, we’ve created a number of opportunities to support post-primary school learning at The Market Place Theatre, Armagh.
Encaustic is the ancient art of painting using a beeswax medium with pigment in layers fused with heat to the layer beneath to create a multi layered solid lustrous surface. During this engaging NEW workshop with Encaustic Artist Niamh O’Connor you will work with wax on card manipulated by the use of specially supplied irons and adapted stylus tools.
This easy introduction into the art of encaustic is suitable for people interested in card making or creating small scale simply
achieved art pieces for scrapbooking or framing. You will leave the workshop with a range of cards and art works in different textures and colours. All materials and equipment are provided however attendees should bring an apron or wear old clothes.
